ABOUT ME

'Ayubowan' ('may you live long', a greeting in Sri Lanka), my name is Libby and I am the creator and founder of Lanka Living and Yoga.

I am here to help you create habits that bring out the best in you, release your inner smile and feel comfortable in your own skin (on and off the mat).

I grew up in the Blue Mountains, Australia. As a child I was surrounded with music, dance, pilates and stage productions. Early adulthood took me to the city life of Sydney CBD, Australia. In those days, it was early morning gym sessions, jogging through inner city parks and the occasional adult jazz or contemporary dance class.

Then, during the early days of motherhood I experimented with home based pilates and other forms of breath based movement, primarily doing online classes with Pilates and Fitness Revolution (thank you so much Desi). It was here where I really fell in love with mindfulness, movement and music integration, which I could experience from the comfort of my own home (via zoom or YouTube on demand).

Fast forward to today, I am surrounded by birds, squirrels and monkeys in the splendid island of Sri Lanka. I am here with my 'hon-da-ma ma-ha-thaa-ya' (awesome husband), Dinuk, fun loving children, Dilen and Amaya, and amazingly kind and caring extended family and community. Together, we LOVE music, dancing, coffee, cooking, playing backyard or beach cricket and exploring the great outdoors.

With gyms and/or studio resources not easily accessible, my daily movement and life force begins at home and usually guided by generous creators on YouTube or self created after completing my 200hr Drishti Beats Yoga Teacher Training course (huge thank you to Lori and Jeremy).

So, let’s continue this journey together and share in the practice of yoga and living well. Together we can create the ease and energy needed to think clearly, be present, hold space for others, and be well in ourselves throughout the ever changing ebb and flow of life.

Namaste ('bowing to you' in Sanskrit).
