Welcome to Lanka Living and Yoga, a community hub to share in the practice of yoga and the art of living well (AKA 'Lanka Living').

Here you can find music inspired yoga classes and wellness tidbits to help you become more (and more) comfortable in your own skin, confident and calm, and in the words of Gandhi, ‘be the change we wish to see in the world’.

📚 READ: Light on Life – Why I’m focusing on "expanding" - Light on Life is a beautiful reflection of B.K.S. Iyengar’s 70+ years of practice. It is rich with stories from his own life that show how yoga can help us navigate real-world challenges — identity, career, family, community, aging, loss and grief. A major takeaway for me was to ‘focus on expanding’ in every yoga pose. Instead of focusing on the ‘time under tension’ or ‘perceived endpoint’ in a pose, I now think about ‘expanding to give space’ and, therefore, the opportunity of healing in every pose. Which is really a concept that is helpful off the mat too. This shift has made a huge difference in my practice and a beautiful reminder that yoga is about making space for growth not forcing it.
