Sri Lanka - It’s a Feeling

Sri Lanka has been named one of the Top 5 Best Places to Visit in Asia for 2026 (by U.S. News & World Report) and one of the 50 Best Places to Travel (by Travel + Leisure).
So what makes Sri Lanka so special?
Is it the warmth, kindness or hospitality of its people? The melody of spices in the food? Is it the wildlife or fresh island breeze? Is it the history, culture and mystery in stories of past times? Is it the bustling inner cities and community hubs? Is it the open mountain ranges and clear coastal waters? Is it all of this and more?
Sri Lanka is a vibrant country with so much to explore and experience. This tropical island offers an array of beaches, misty mountain ranges, vibrant townships, national parks and tea country. There are historical sights and ancient kingdoms, there are jungle safaris and iconic rail journeys. Whether it be to rest and recharge, an adventure getaway, family holidays, a wellness retreat, or projects that cause you to stay longer, there is something for everyone here in Sri Lanka, at any time, and at any age.
Sri Lanka is also one of the most hospitable countries I know of when it comes to travelling with kids. In Sri Lanka, children are honored and treasured alike to precious gems and gold.
While Sri Lanka is not known for its kid’s cafés and playgrounds, it is known for its great outdoors and providing a natural wonderland to explore. A few examples include, seeing elephants, birds and other creatures in their natural habitats, boat adventures, whale watching, swimming with turtles, snorkeling and diving, calm bays for swimming, surfing and beach town chill, bike riding, off-road 4WD’ing, jumping waterfalls, climbing boulders, enjoying viewpoints, and an array of walking trails and more.
They say, ‘Sri Lanka is a feeling’, I couldn’t agree more. It is hard to explain in many ways. All I know is my heart has been unmistakably shaped by my time in Sri Lanka. Now deeply rooted in the island’s vibrant culture, I live a life defined by the rhythmic pulse of Sri Lankan family, tradition, and spirit.
